Mike Spicer and I have known each other for 15 years. We first worked together on "Shade", a 1976 Sparkman Stevens design Wright Allied Yawl rig know as the XL-2. If interested, more information about this particular boat can be found here: Wright Allied Yawl Rig XL-2 Sparkman Stevens Design For a more complete photo library documenting actual refit: Refit Photos
Mike Spicer by trade is a Shipwright and avid sailor going back to his youth. Sailing the "Pond" as well as other locations, Mike also sails (races) the old style dug-out wooden boats as part as a team here on the Chesapeake Bay, and has for many years. You can find just a small portion of Mikes work on my site in what is referred to as the "Mike Spicer Teak Deck Replacement" all performed without mechanical fastenings and a work of art: Mike Spicer Teak Deck Replacement
It goes without saying the skill involved with Mikes work; rigging too is another aspect of his expertise. The respect over the years gathered from our peers in the trade and people such as you was developed through his abilities with success story after the other.
I would also add, if Mike is to be contacted prepare your self with a note pad as his answers are through in nature.
